The WWE Locker Room Wanted THIS Wrestler To Fight John Cena
WWE's roster was real excited about the thought of a big backstage fight.
R-Truth was expected to literally fight John Cena when he arrived in WWE.
Truth dished the details on this fascinating story during an appearance on Premier Live TV. According to the comedy star, many backstage believed he'd come to blows with Cena upon putting pen to paper on a WWE deal for a second time in 2008.
Rumoured "beef" between both men had been exacerbated by Konnan when the ex-WCW man told others that Truth and JC got into a shoving match at the airport. That wasn't actually true, but it made for tasty news headlines at the time.
In reality, Truth had released some rap diss tracks about Cena, but they were very mild. Upon arriving in WWE, he buried the hatchet with John quickly - Cena asked, "We're not gonna have any problems, are we?". Truth said no, and the pair hugged it out.
That was a disappointment to the rest of the roster. Many thought for sure they'd see a dramatic backstage scuffle between the pair, and they were letdown when it didn't happen. Truth got a kick out of that.
