THIS Will Be John Cena's First WWE House Show Match
John Cena's first (non-TV) WWE live event match back has been revealed.
John Cena was recently announced for WWE's first house show loop since early-2020. The company named the tour 'Summer Of Cena', and promised that the comeback king would appear on the majority of dates during the build towards SummerSlam on 21 August.
The first of those live events happens this Sunday in Louisville, Kentucky.
There, Cena will team with Rey and Dominik Mysterio to face Roman Reigns and The Usos in six-man tag action; John is effectively replacing Edge here. The 'Rated-R Superstar' and pals wrestled 'The Bloodline' on last week's episode of SmackDown (which was the first back in front of a live crowd).
Edge is out and Cena is in.
It's believed that this will be the scenario all the way up until SummerSlam. John did reiterate his pay-per-view challenge to Roman on Friday's SmackDown, but the reigning Universal Champion knocked that back and instead accepted an interim challenge from Cena's fellow returnee Finn Bálor.
That's surely a temporary distraction. There's no way WWE will book anything other than Cena vs. Reigns at SummerSlam, and these six-man tags on the house show loop perhaps prove it.
