This WWE Legend Almost Wore Ring Gear With "TNA" On It
WWE agents spotted this mistake and made him change before a match on live TV.
Rob Van Dam shared a hilarious story about his 2013-2014 WWE comeback during a recent episode of his podcast.
The recent AEW cameo star told fans that he was already stretching behind the curtain when then-WWE agent Dean Malenko walked up and asked if Rob had any other ring gear with him. When RVD said yes, Dean followed up by suggesting he go change into that.
Van Dam was confused, because his opponent was literally in the ring and his own entrance music was just about to blare over the speakers. That's when Malenko pointed out that Rob was wearing ring attire covered in the TNA logo.
Oops.
He acknowledged right there and then that it was probably best if he didn't stroll out live on Raw promoting a rival company. This isn't even something Rob put a lot of thought into - he just chucked some gear into a bag for the trip without properly checking it out, and had forgotten he once wore TNA-themed attire on episodes of iMPACT.
Malenko saved a potentially-awkward conversation with Vince McMahon there. RVD had no problems grabbing something else to wear!
