TNA Ownership Announcement Expected Imminently
Is Dixie Carter finally on her way out?
TNA have endured a typically turbulent year, but after settling their lawsuit with former president Billy Corgan and fighting off extinction once again, PWInsider are reporting some good news on the horizon.
Anthem Sports & Entertainment are set to officially announce their purchase of TNA and parent company Impact Ventures from Dixie Carter imminently. The announcement will almost certainly remove Dixie from any position of power, and will see TNA move forward without the Carter family's involvement for the first time since 2002.
It's expected that Ed Nordholm will inherit Dixie's position as TNA's figurehead. Nordholm, Anthem's Executive Vice President, is said to be extremely business-oriented, and for a company that has been haemorrhaging money for years, this will be a welcome move.
Carter has become one of wrestling's most maligned personalities throughout her custodianship, but if the report is to be believed, Nordholm is already being talked about favourably by several TNA talents. TNA have never been closer to going out of business than they were in October, but Anthem supplied the money to fund their vital year-end TV tapings, and completed their takeover in November.
TNA will move forward with all planned live events, and while it's tough to predict what 2017 holds, they'll at least start the new year on a positive footing.
