TNA Selling Tape Library To WWE "Imminently"?

It's going to happen...unless Good Ol' JR's sources are wrong.

Before Monday's Impact tapings, Dixie Carter held a meeting with all of the wrestlers, and informed everyone that she would not be selling the company's tape library to WWE, despite having the opportunity to do so.

Apparently that's not the case.

Jim Ross said on the most recent edition of his podcast that a couple of his "very reliable" sources have informed him that the company is indeed going to sell off all their old footage to WWE, and that the deal is "imminent."

He also said that WWE does not want the company itself, just their tape library.

What this means for the future of TNA is absolutely unclear. Are they just selling the footage to pay off debt, then re-brand and move forward under a new name? Is this the first step in them going under completely?

The company ran tapings on Monday and Tuesday, and will have a couple more in the upcoming nights, so they at least won't be disappearing within the next few weeks. After that is anyone's guess. Hopefully they can figure out their long-term plan (if there will be one) soon, as all of the rumors and speculation is becoming a bit cruel to all of the talent who work there.
