Seth Rollins has admitted that he had some "really strong conversations" with Vince McMahon during the period between January's Royal Rumble and April's two-day WrestleMania 38 weekender.

The WWE man told Ryan Satin's 'Out Of Character' show that he struggled to understand why the company had nothing concrete for him heading into 'Mania season: "If I was sucking, then yeah - I get it, but I’m not. I’m 35 at that time in my prime!".

Seth also revealed that he told Vince, "I don’t know what else you want from me". The wrestler was mega-puzzled that McMahon was content to leave him off both nights in Texas, and wanted to know why that was the case when he had been one of WWE's most consistently entertaining workers.

It didn't take long before talks started between WWE and one Cody Rhodes, but Rollins "wasn't privy to" those negotiations and had zero clue they were even happening until maybe "three weeks" before 'Mania. To him, there was a very-real possibility he'd miss out on that sweet payday altogether, and he wasn't too happy about it.

That's why he argued back and forth with the then-boss.
