In a break from the undercard division's usual format, Becky Lynch mounted a challenge for the WWE 24/7 Championship on last night's episode of Raw - though she was unsuccessful.

Lynch was due to wrestle Dana Brooke, the former 24/7 Champion, following her defeat in a Raw Women's Title three-way featuring Bianca Belair and Asuka at Hell In A Cell 2022. The match had barely gotten started when current title-holder Akira Tozawa hit the ring with Tamina, R-Truth, T-Bar, and Reggie for a textbook comedy segment, resulting in Brooke pinning Tozawa to secure the comedy belt.

A fuming Becky then demanded a shot at the gold, saying that only she was allowed to win championships in her matches. Two minutes of action unfolded. They were built primarily around Asuka, who hit ringside to distract Lynch, eventually holding Brooke down to the extent that she was able to hand Becky an embarrassing, banana skin loss.

Dana's fifth reign as 24/7 Champion continues.

Lynch vs. Asuka appears to be the direction heading towards Money in the Bank 2022. The duo were both involved in the HIAC finish, with Belair stealing the pinfall on Asuka after Becky had downed the Japanese star via Manhandle Slam.
