Sami Zayn doesn't see himself as some 2023 version of Daniel Bryan.

The would-be sympathetic babyface, who is definitely breaking away from The Bloodline at some point during the lead-up to WrestleMania 39, told BT Sport's Ariel Helwani that he doesn't think WWE fans would "revolt" if he wasn't pushed to the moon like Bryan in 2014.

Basically, Sami doesn't see heavy boos coming the way of whomever wins Saturday's 2023 Royal Rumble match. Zayn does think creative must made sure the match is "done well" though, and he understands that some fans out there want to see him get the nod.

Sami is grateful for their support, but doesn't "necessarily" see clear parallels between himself and current AEW man Bryan Danielson's rise years ago. Batista received a lot of hate from fans for daring to win the 2014 Rumble instead of Bryan, but Zayn doesn't see that happening again.

"I don’t think it’s at a place where Daniel Bryan was in 2014; if it’s anybody but him, it’s going to be a disaster!".

Rumours persist that everyone from Cody Rhodes to The Rock will win this year's Rumble, but Sami should be considered an outside bet.
