Update On Cash Wheeler's Status For AEW All In
A further update on FTR vs. The Young Bucks at AEW All In.
With last Friday bringing word of his arrest for aggravated assault with a firearm, there has been plenty of questions over Cash Wheeler's status for AEW All In this coming weekend.
In an update on this situation, Justin Barrasso of Sports Illustrated reports that Wheeler is "expected" to be in London for All In on Sunday.
Of course, Wheeler and long-time partner Dax Harwood are due to defend the AEW Tag Team Titles against the Young Bucks on this impending Wembley Stadium PPV. Despite that match being hyped on this past Saturday's AEW Collision - a show which took place one day after Wheeler's arrest - some have pondered whether the bout will indeed ultimately take place as scheduled.
It has been previously noted how Cash hasn't had his passport seized and does not have any travel restrictions at this time, but that obviously won't stop some speculating until they see FTR and the Young Bucks stood in the middle of the ring on Sunday.
AEW President Tony Khan is due to address the media this afternoon, and one has to imagine the subject of Cash Wheeler will come up at some point. Whether Tony actually answers those questions, though, is an entirely other matter. As noted by Barrasso, it appears to be in the promotion's "best interests" for Cash to compete at All In, then deal with any consequences after the PPV.
It's currently unknown whether Khan was made aware of the charge against Wheeler prior to his arrest on Friday. That arrest stems from an incident on 27 July where the real-life Daniel Wheeler is alleged to have waved a semi-automatic handgun at another driver during a "road rage-type incident". A warrant was released the following day, with Wheeler charged with a third-degree felony.
FTR and the Young Bucks are due for a face-to-face promo segment on AEW Dynamite tomorrow.
