Often consigned to wrestling in Sasha Banks and Charlotte's shadow since arriving on WWE's main roster, it's finally Bayley's time to shine on Raw. She has been involved in brief Women's Championship programs before, but never on a prolonged one-on-one basis. This all changed when Bayley defeated Nia Jax to become Charlotte's number one contender on this week's show, and she'll get her title shot at the Royal Rumble on January 29th.

Bayley and Charlotte have constantly butted heads throughout their NXT and WWE runs, and their rivalry isn't expected to end in San Antonio. According to Dave Meltzer on Monday's Wrestling Observer Radio, Bayley and Charlotte are set for a lengthy feud on Raw, with this week's confrontation between Bayley and Stephanie McMahon acting as a repeat of Daniel Bryan's WrestleMania XXX story.

The long-term plan is for Bayley to win the Raw Women's Championship, but probably not at the Royal Rumble. According to Meltzer, WWE will draw Charlotte's lengthy PPV undefeated streak out for another couple of months, before finally pulling the trigger on a title change at WrestleMania 33.

There's no word on WWE's planned match finish at the Rumble, but it's thought that Bayley will emerge unsuccessful.
