WWE is on the verge of announcing the Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas, Nevada as the official location for SummerSlam 2021.

This is according to the Wrestling Observer's Dave Meltzer, who notes that confirmation is expected soon. Last Vegas had already been pinpointed as the pay-per-view's location by Sports Illustrated and PWInsider.

The company had been looking for an open-air venue for SummerSlam, which will almost certainly feature an audience with WWE returning to live, ticketed events in July. Allegiant Stadium doesn't quite fit the remit, though its see-through roof and walls will give the impression of an outdoor event when WWE hits it for The Biggest Party of the Summer.

WWE is yet to formally announce the date for SummerSlam 2021, though 22 August had previously been rumoured. SummerSlam 2021 wouldn't be the biggest show in town that weekend, however, with Manny Pacquiao and Errol Spence Jr. set to fight in Las Vegas the night before.

SummerSlam 2021 will form part of WWE's upcoming 25-city tour, which kicks off with the 16 July episode of SmackDown and runs through Labor Day on 6 September. The company is yet to confirm any addition dates between the first three (16, 18, 19 July) in Texas.
