Vince McMahon FURIOUS With The Undertaker Over Starrcast II Appearance?
Is the legendary WWE duo's decades-long relationship in jeopardy?
News that The Undertaker had been signed to appear at the AEW-adjacent Starcast II convention during Double Or Nothing weekend provoked much shock among the global wrestling fanbase, and it looks like that extends to WWE Chairman Vince McMahon.
Per Dave Meltzer on a recent episode of Wrestling Observer Radio, McMahon is furious that a man he thought a company lifer would take work with anyone he considers a rival, despite not pencilling anything in for the legendary 'Deadman' at WrestleMania 35.
Meltzer adds that McMahon is operating with the understanding that All Elite Wrestling and Starrcast are directly linked, though organised Conrad Thompson has been quick to distance his convention from AEW. They are adjacent, but they aren't operating under the same umbrella, despite Vince's assumption.
McMahon's reaction is hardly surprising. The Undertaker is perhaps his biggest ground-up success story, and an employee of 29 years. On top of this, he hates the perception that his promotion is no longer the only shop in town, so one of his top guys taking a booking elsewhere was always going to sting him.
Whatever happens, the odds of 'Taker appearing at 'Mania may have just nosedived.
