Vince McMahon Is Insistent WWE Runs WrestleMania 36 On April 5th
New report says Vince will run 'Mania at the Performance Centre if he has to.
While country after country moves to discourage people from mass gatherings, it seems that Vince McMahon is absolutely adamant that WrestleMania 36 still takes place on April 5.
According to PWInsider and @WrestleVotes, McMahon is insistent that this year’s Showcase of the Immortals takes place in just a matter of weeks and is "very much against" the idea of moving the show from its originally scheduled date.
Several possibilities are said to be on the table.
There have been internal discussions amongst WWE brass over having WrestleMania 36 take place in an empty Raymond James Stadium. McMahon is said to have shot down that suggestion, with VKM against the concept of having ‘Mania take place in a vacated stadium.
Given that officials in the Tampa Bay area have already said that they’ll formally pull the plug on WrestleMania 36 later this week if WWE doesn’t beat them to it, the sports entertainment juggernaut is on the lookout for an alternative venue for ‘Mania.
As per PWInsider, rumours of hosting the event in Saudi Arabia are false, as are similar rumours of having WrestleMania 36 held in New York City.
One other suggestion is for the Granddaddy of Them All to pull inspiration from SmackDown, Raw, and NXT and take place at the WWE Performance Center. This remains a genuine possibility right now – particularly as how McMahon is determined for WrestleMania 36 to happen on April 5 as planned.
There is said to be rumblings amongst WWE talent that ‘Mania may be switched to June or July, but that is said to be a non-issue whilst Vince continues to budge on the company’s biggest event of the year taking place in less than three weeks' time.
