With Paul Heyman and Eric Bischoff recently appointed as the new Executive Directors of Raw and SmackDown Live, respectively, there have been plenty of reports about Bischoff’s involvement in the current WWE product – or, more specifically, his lack thereof.

Previous online scuttlebutt suggested that Bischoff started his new position two weeks ago but that he had still not even attended a single SmackDown show, let alone overseen the creative direction of the blue brand. Now, Eazy E has taken to his own 83 Weeks podcast to clarify a few things.

As the former WCW head explained, “My start date was never supposed to be before July 22nd. Anything that has been written and reported so far has been wrong in terms of what my role actually is and what it will be, and when my start date will be. If you’ve read it online, it’s been wrong.”

Bischoff would go on to reveal how his new role is so big that it would be impossible to just hit the ground running, and instead it will take him a little while to get used to his new Executive Director position.

While Bisch’s official start date is today, he did admit that he began to learn some of the basics of his new job towards the end of last week.

Tomorrow night’s SmackDown Live will be the first production meeting that Eric Bischoff has been a part of for his latest stint with WWE – although first and foremost, Bischoff will be one of the multitude of names featured on tonight’s Raw Reunion show.
