Which NXT Superstar Debuted On Last Night's WWE Raw?
Standout from NXT 2.0 makes first appearance on WWE's flagship program.
After weeks of watching Tommaso Ciampa fight battles on WWE Raw to set up the ongoing program with the Dirty Dawgs on NXT 2.0, NXT Champion Bron Breakker made his Raw debut Monday night.
The standout rookie teamed with Ciampa to defeat the Dirty Dawgs, which served as a backdrop for the triple threat for the NXT Championship at Roadblock this Tuesday night, when Breakker defends against Ciampa and Dolph Ziggler.
Breakker wasn't in the ring for too terribly long - this was his 18th career match and was in front of the largest televised audience by far, so it's understandable you'd want to keep it manageable. But he impressed during his limited bursts, hitting Dolph with a delayed vertical suplex and later unleashing a huge belly-to-belly suplex before finishing Ziggler with a press powerslam for the win.
The second-generation superstar (just don't ask who his father is) is one of a handful of highly touted prospects who are doing well during NXT's reboot. The rebranded territory is not without its issues, and some of the wrestlers being pushed frankly aren't ready for television, but Breakker is seemingly the real deal and could be special (until WWE has him go 50/50 with the Miz when he's eventually called up for good).
Still, this was a pretty good showing for Bron, and a pretty blatant advertisement for NXT 2.0 on Tuesday.
