Despite being the current WWE United States Champion, Bobby Lashley wants more.

During an interview with Sports Illustrated, the "Black Superman" (his words) said that he wouldn't rest until he'd won that title and couldn't walk away from pro wrestling without enjoying at least one reign as WWE Champion.

Lashley said it's important that he pushes his way into WWE's plans for the belt so his kids can be proud of his accomplishments. At the same time, Bobby is also mindful of the cultural impact he could have on other people "that look like me".

There's no doubt that being aligned with MVP and Shelton Benjamin (specifically the former) on Raw has helped raise Lashley's stock in the promotion. 'The Hurt Business' gimmick is a better fit for Lashley than anything he's done since returning to WWE in 2018.

Bobby added that he's not the kind of dude who will politic or badmouth others to Vince McMahon in order to get ahead. He believes in the value of hard work, and says he's working hard enough to someday become WWE Champ.
