Why AEW Has Suspended THIS Ongoing Storyline
If you were wondering why one of AEW's biggest storylines suddenly vanished...
Kyle O'Reilly's paternity leave is why his and Bobby Fish's AEW storyline with Adam Cole and The Young Bucks was put on pause almost as soon it started.
This is according to Dave Meltzer in the latest edition of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter. O'Reilly is currently off television following the birth of his daughter, Janie Elizabeth Greenwood, whom he and his wife welcomed to the world on 17 January.
One of AEW's newest signings, O'Reilly debuted for the company on its 22 December episode of Dynamite, doing so just 12 days after his WWE contract expired. He immediately reformed reDRagon with long-time partner Bobby Fish, who arrived in AEW in October, and entered the tug of war for Adam Cole, whose Elite allegiance was brought into question.
Said storyline continues in reDRagon's absence. On this week's Dynamite, Cole was questioned by the Bucks for bringing Jay White into the company, with the Jackson brothers pointing out Jay's old New Japan rivalry with the absent Kenny Omega.
There is currently no word on when O'Reilly's paternity leave will end, though it's safe to assume that this story will re-commence when he returns.
