Why Brock Lesnar WON'T Be At WWE SummerSlam 2021
A major new update on why the Beast Incarnate looks set to miss SummerSlam.
Reports over the weekend indicate that Bill Goldberg could be turning up on WWE television as soon as tomorrow night's Raw in order to set up a match against WWE Champion Bobby Lashley at this year's SummerSlam PPV.
Previously, many had hoped - and, quite frankly, still do hope - that it would be a returning Brock Lesnar who would be facing the All Mighty at the Biggest Show of the Summer. And now, there's an update on why any such Brock return isn't likely to happen.
As per the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, the reason that the Beast Incarnate won't be at SummerSlam is down to how Lesnar is not ready to come back and work multiple shows.
If Brock was to appear at SummerSlam solely in a one-off fashion to face Lashley, the reality is that Lesnar would end up losing that match. For WWE, certain officials are already eyeing a Brock Lesnar vs. Roman Reigns rivalry down the line, and so they don't want to weaken the perception of Brock by having him lose to Lashley or by that contest ending in some sort of non-finish.
While we've seen Lesnar vs. Reigns plenty of times over the years, the lay of the land is clearly very different right now - not least in how the dominating Head of the Table has Paul Heyman at his side.
