Why Lance Archer Didn't Debut On Last Night's AEW Dynamite
AEW didn't deliver 'The American Psycho's' big arrival last night.
Lance Archer was supposed to debut on yesterday's AEW Dynamite, with the promotion announcing this shortly after the multi-talented big man was signed last week. It didn't happen; the whole two-hour broadcast passed without an appearance from 'The American Psycho.'
Dave Meltzer spoke about this on today's episode of Wrestling Observer Radio, stating that a creative decision earlier this week led to AEW changing their minds and opting against Archer's debut, theorising that the promotion is trying to space its big debuts out.
Noting that Brodie Lee and Matt Hardy could also be on the verge of signing, Meltzer said that AEW may not want to introduce three new faces in a short time period. Dave also stated that he was unaware if Archer not showing up had anything to do with Jake 'The Snake' Roberts, who is bringing in a new client to face Cody.
Archer's AEW signing was confirmed last week. He'll add much-needed size to a promotion largely dominated by smaller wrestlers, with his diverse skillset and imposing demeanour giving him a great chance of getting over huge very, very soon. Let's see how things pan out for him.
