Why WWE Backstage Morale Is So High Right Now
How the lack of certain figures has helped WWE morale lately...
WWE's backstage morale is seemingly in a good place following the departure of long-serving executive Kevin Dunn, who "didn't have a stellar reputation" in the promotion, despite being there for close to four decades.
Bryan Alvarez stated as much on Figure Four Daily with Lance Storm. "[Dunn] didn't have a stellar reputation," he said. "A lot of people are happy that he's gone, kind of like a lot of people were happy that Vince [McMahon] was gone. It's almost like two peas in a pod."
A long-standing Vince McMahon ally, Dunn was largely responsible for shaping WWE's televised presentation as Executive Producer and Chief of Global Television Distribution. His late-December resignation came into effect on 1 January, having been with the promotion since 1984.
Continuing, Alvarez claimed that WWE's roster prefers working under Chief Content Officer Paul 'Triple H' Levesque rather than Vince, who has largely been removed from creative power under new owners Endeavor.
"I heard someone say yesterday, who has been there a long time," Alvarez said. "'One of the big differences is I have never seen Triple H blow his stack over everything. Like not one time ever have I seen him flip out. Vince, he could be a complete maniac sometimes', they said."
The current working environment was described as being "much easier" compared to when McMahon and Dunn were active.
