Kevin Owens has revealed why a permanent jump to NXT in 2019 never happened during an interview with Bleacher Report.

The WWE star said that he was once determined to help the black and yellow brand grow as much as possible when he learned that it'd be debuting on USA Network. KO went so far as to tell company management that he'd love to leave Raw and SmackDown behind in favour of making a full-time move to Full Sail.

That never happened, but why? Did WWE overrule his wishes and decree that NXT wasn't the right place for Owens. Nope. He did.

Despite rumours circulating earlier this summer that he was still keen on it, Kevin says that's "just not where I’m at anymore". In fact, he changed his mind and decided that he'd be better off throwing his all into making Raw or SmackDown a better product.

"That’s all I want at this point", he said.

Owens didn't divulge exactly what changed his mind. It might not have been one specific thing - perhaps he decided that the brand switch wouldn't do him any favours or lead to anything special anyway.
