During WWE's recent Q1 2020 earnings call, Vince McMahon yet again hinted that the company may be pulling the plug on house shows/live events.

WWE house shows used to be a huge money earner for the company and the warmer crowds would usually refrain from booing the likes of Roman Reigns and John Cena. However, in a conference call back in 2019, McMahon mentioned that the house shows would be reimagined going forward and the company slowly began to reduce the number of live events on their schedule.

Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer has even suggested that the shows may be in fact losing the company money at this point.

Obviously, WWE have ceased all house shows during the current global situation, but due to the reasons above, perhaps the company may not even choose to revisit live events once they're in a position to do so.

Speaking in that aforementioned recent investors call, McMahon all but confirmed this by stating, “I don’t think we’re going to be in the live event business like we were before.”
