Why WWE Just Moved Money In The Bank 2022 To A Smaller Venue
From an NFL stadium to a much smaller arena just five weeks out from PLE.
So much for WWE's summer being dominated by three stadium shows for their Premium Live Events.
WWE was poised to have its first of three massive PLEs in July with Money in the Bank slated to take place in July at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas, the site of SummerSlam last year. Now, Fightful.com reports that WWE has announced that it's moving MITB to the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Vegas, sending an email to fans about the change.
All tickets purchased for the stadium have been automatically refunded, and fans who bought tickets for the original venue will get the first opportunity to buy tix for the new location. Tickets reportedly will go on sale for the MGM Grand Garden Arena on June 1, with the show taking place July 2.

WWE provided no reason for the change in locations. However, venue seating size could be a factor. Selling out a stadium show on the strength of the show name is extremely difficult for any WWE event not called "WrestleMania," especially with no matches announced.
Allegiant Stadium is the home of the NFL Las Vegas Raiders and has a seating capacity of more than 60,000. Reportedly, it held 51,000 fans for SummerSlam last year. MGM Grand Garden Arena, meanwhile, will be setup for around 12,000.
WrestleTix tweeted the following after it was reported that Money in the Bank was moving venues:
My final estimate for the setup was 24,867, which means they had roughly 17,924 tickets distributed. MGM Grand Garden Arena will likely have a setup of around 12,000. Presale is next Wednesday at 10AM PST.
Given that fewer seats will now be on sale than were originally distributed, fans still planning on attending Money In The Bank 2022 face an uphill battle for tickets.
