Wrestling Legend Appears After WWE NXT 2.0 Goes Off The Air
Who showed up after the cameras stopped rolling for NXT New Year's Evil 2022?
Rick Steiner was in the house for last night's special New Year's Evil episode of WWE NXT 2.0, joining son Bron Breakker in the ring following his main event triumph.
Breakker defeated Tommaso Ciampa to become NXT Champion in only the ninth televised match of his WWE career at New Year's Evil. While WWE stopped short of having Rick appear on camera, he was permitted to hit the ring after the show stopped rolling, joining his son for the biggest moment of his young career.
WWE not directly referencing Breakker's glittering wrestling lineage has been one of his run's major talking points thus far. But while the company dipped on plans to christen the 24-year-old Rex Steiner prior to his debut, much of his act is clearly inspired by father Rick and uncle Scott, including his Steiner Recliner finisher, which put Ciampa away at New Year's Evil.
Rick was originally set to appear at NXT's Halloween Havoc special back in October, where Ciampa defeated Breakker to retain the NXT Title, though he ended up pulling out.
Steiner last appeared for WWE way back in 1994.
