Professional Wrestling and comic books share many fans and, unsurprisingly, many similarities! In both instances, you have dastardly villains always attempting to dominate and reign supreme ... they will do anything in their power to achieve their ultimate goal, including but not limited to sleeping their way to the top (Trish Stratus, circa 2000-2001), leading a collection of subservient baddies and operating under the "pack" mentality (Wade Barrett in The Nexus), or using everything at their disposal including their vast wealth and reputation in an attempt to beat their rival into submission (anyone with the last name "McMahon" or anyone who married into the family). However, for every Joker or Lex Luthor that rears its ugly head comes a resilient and determined hero who will risk his or her well-being all for the sake of delivering justice or promoting peace. Wrestlers such as John Cena exhibit the strength of a real-life Superman, while others, such as CM Punk, have shown superior intellect like the legendary Batman ... while Divas like Chyna, Beth Phoenix, and Lita have proven to be living, breathing Wonder Women. With wrestling and comics sharing so many traits, it's not surprising when the real world and the comic world merge together with wrestlers paying homage to the characters that inspired them to become made of steel or leap tall buildings in a single bound! Here, we take a look at ten instances where wrestlers went from being Superstars ... to Superheroes!
