As a dedicated wrestling fan, I find myself vacillating between two approaches to WrestleMania. One approach finds me so excited for the event fueled by my mental highlight reel of Manias past - that my expectations couldn't possibly be met. Anything short of consistently spectacular feels "less than special". In a nutshell, this first approach sets me up for disappointment. But I don't WANT to be disappointed. I love wrestling not just for the entertainment value, but also because I am so fond of the wrestlers. I admire and respect them for the feats that they perform and the stories that they tell. I want to see them have highlight reel-worthy moments, for their own fulfillment as much as for my entertainment. Which leads to my second approach to WrestleMania, one which finds me savouring whatever I am given and having a good time regardless. It's an excuse to make a buffet of snacks and gather with friends (who are just there for the snacks). With all that being said, there are a few items on my list of "Must Not Happen at WrestleMania" this year. If any one of them come to fruition, you will find me abandoning approach number two!
