Copyright: WWE CM Punk Best In The World Blu-rayWWE have released a fantastic "By The Numbers" video about Money in the Bank, which is taking place this Sunday night. It's similar to the Royal Rumble video that they have been airing for years. They probably should have aired it on Raw this past week to get fans excited for the match, but instead they just put it out on their Youtube channel. The numbers in the video are interesting, but that's not what jumped out at us when we first watched it. What was very noticeable is that WWE completely ignored CM Punk, who won the MITB match in 2008 (WrestleMania 24) and 2009 (WrestleMania 25). It's understandable why they would ignore him since he walked out of the company back in January. However, he also is the only man that won Money in the Bank twice. It was likely done because of some directive from the office that tells all departments to completely ignore anything Punk related. They don't want to put him over at the expense of people that actually work there. By doing that, it completely ignores important historical moments. It's a tough spot for WWE. Things probably won't change with how they mention Punk (or ignore him) unless he returns to the company, which is very doubtful at this point. Here are some of the interesting stats shared in the video: - There have been 103 superstars competing in the nine years of Money in the Bank matches. There have been 14 Money in the Bank matches. - Kane and Christian have competed in the most Money in the Bank matches with six each. Kane will be in his seventh on Sunday. - Mr. Kennedy was the only man to lose his MITB contract before cashing it in. That was due to an injury he suffered, so they gave it to Edge. It's interesting that they mention Kennedy since he works for TNA, but it's not like WWE sees them as competition. - The month of June has had the most cash-ins with three. - Five people have cashed in the MITB briefcase on Raw. That doesn't mean they won since Cena and Sandow lost in the last two years. Smackdown and SummerSlam have had two cash-ins while WrestleMania has had none. - Jack Swagger is the youngest Money in the Bank winner. He was 28 when he won at WrestleMania 26. - Wrestlers have cashed in on John Cena three times. Edge and Rob Van Dam successfully beat him for the WWE Title while Sandow failed last year on his attempt for the World Title. - The longest person to cash in the briefcase was the first winner, Edge, who took 280 days. They didn't mention it, but Dolph Ziggler is second at 267 days. - The shortest cash in ever was by Kane in 2010 when he took 50 minutes to cash in the briefcase on Rey Mysterio to become the new World Champion. He's also the only one to cash in on the same night he won it. There are more interesting stats in the video.
