WWE Announce Raw & SmackDown Shake-Up Next Week
WWE have announced a major shake-up for next week's Raw and SmackDown shows where both General Managers will be switching control for one night only. Raw GM John Laurinaitis will become the General Manager of Friday Night SmackDown for one night, whilst Teddy Long takes charge of Raw. WWE.com said in an official statement; "Both Raw and SmackDown are about to get extreme makeovers. In an effort to help determine which General Manager should control both shows, the WWE Board of Directors has decided to switch control of each show next week. SmackDown GM Theodore Long will take control of Monday nights Raw while Raw GM John Laurinaitis takes the reins of next Fridays SmackDown. The decision comes one week after Laurinaitis announced at Elimination Chamber that he will seek control over both shows, bolstered by flattering testimonials by Superstars Mark Henry, Christian and Alberto Del Rio. A perturbed Long made it clear to Laurinaitis that hes not about to take the threat to his position lying down." The General Manager switching is the latest development in the storyline between the two feuding General Managers which will culminate with a WrestleMania 28 match between 'Team Long' and 'Team Laurinaitis'. At this point 'Team Laurinaitis' is tentatively expected to include Alberto Del Rio, Mark Henry, Christian and David Otunga. For Long, his team could involve Randy Orton, Santino Marella and perhaps Rey Mysterio (if fit) and another superstar, though it is not clear yet who this could be.
