19 years since the iconic gimmick match last featured in WCW, WarGames is finally coming to WWE.

The announcement came at last night's NXT TV tapings at Full Sail University. In a segment set to air on the November 1st episode, General Manager William Regal announced that NXT Tag Team Champions Sanity, The Undisputed Era, and Roderick Strong & The Authors Of Pain will compete in the three-team, nine-man match. There's no word on whether the championships will be on the line.

The bout will take place at NXT TakeOver: WarGames on November 18th, with WWE.com confirming the news last night.

First held during the NWA's 1987 Great American Bash Tour, WarGames features two rings side by side, both enclosed by a giant rectangular cage. Entrants are staggered, with the bout ending on the first submission or knockout after every participant has joined. Pinfalls, count-outs, and disqualifications don't count, with matches often descending to brutal, bloody violence.

WWE have also announced that NXT Champion Drew McIntyre will defend his title against Andrade 'Cien' Almas in TakeOver: WarGames' co-main event. Almas earned contendership by defeating Roderick Strong at the tapings.
