WWE's NXT brand has experienced unparalleled success in 2015, and there is no doubt that the face of the division moving into 2016 is NXT Champion Finn Balor. While Balor has done a stellar job as the champion since winning the strap from Kevin Owens on July 4th, the question remains as to when he will finally be moved up to WWE's main roster. Balor is no rookie when it comes to professional wrestling. The 34 year old has been wrestling around the world since 2000, and the year's of mileage he has put on his body while wrestling with such an intense style have surely taken their toll on the Irishman. Dave Meltzer reports this week in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter that there has been some discussion in WWE concerning Balor's health moving into 2016. Balor has been expected to carry the NXT brand in the ring over the last several months with stars such as Kevin Owens and Tyler Breeze being called up to the main roster. Meltzer notes that there is discussion within WWE that the added stress of relying on Balor month after month to have the best match on the card could take away from his eventual run on the main roster due to his body eventually breaking down from the stress. The concern is that Balor's run in NXT has gone on longer than some expected, and a call-up to the main roster doesn't seem imminent as long as they want to keep the NXT brand strong. WWE obviously saw big money in Balor when they signed him to make the jump from New Japan Pro Wrestling to WWE in 2014. Already a mainstream star in Japan at the time as the leader of the wildly popular Bullet Club, Balor has been expected to be a main event player whenever WWE calls him to the main roster. The question is whether or not the toll of wrestling such an intense style for so many years, including in NXT, will cost him some of his time to make money on the main roster once he finally gets there. With NXT expected to do even more touring in 2016, some worry that NXT will break his body down before he gets to RAW and SmackDown.
