WWE: Daniel Bryan Wants John Cena To Turn Heel
Compares the idea to Hulk Hogan's successful heel turn in 1996.
WWE superstar Daniel Bryan has revealed that he would love it if John Cena turned heel. Speaking in an interview to 104.4 Virgin Radio Dubai whilst promoting the forthcoming WWE 2K16 video game, Bryan compared the idea to Hulk Hogan's shocking but successful heel turn in 1996 and how it turned wrestling around. He's right because after that happened, the New World Order angle really sparked World Championship Wrestling and it hurt WWE big time. Bryan also said that in today's wrestling world, heels get cheered a lot, so it's hard to tell if a Cena heel turn would work. That's a valid point because if Cena did turn heel, a lot of the people that are booing him might cheer for him if he's considered "cool" as a heel. It's something that all WWE fans think about since Cena has been the top face in WWE for ten years and he really is this generation's Hogan. While Cena does sometimes say words like "bi**h" once in a while as a way to show his aggressiveness, he's usually the nicest guy on WWE TV and a role model for kids. Cena will likely never turn heel because of how much money he generates for WWE as well as all the charity work he does for organizations like the Make A Wish foundation. With that said, it would definitely be the kid of angle that sparks WWE business. Fans would tune in to see or hear what Cena would do next much like they did for Hogan nearly twenty years ago. It could give WWE the ratings boost they need right now too. Also in the interview, Bryan said his favourite performers currently are The New Day and Cesaro.
