Tiered WWE Network subscriptions offering different benefits at various price points have supposedly been in the works since an October 2016 survey first mentioned the idea, and it looks like the company are finally testing their viability.

According to PW Insider, WWE brought a new, smaller production team to tape last night's (21 October) house show in Boston, MA, and will do the same when Starrcade hits Cincinnati, OH on 24 November.

There's no word on whether or not these shows will actually be uploaded to the Network. It's likely that WWE are merely testing things out should they eventually decide to implement different price points, as such shows would stand among a rumoured $14.99 tier's biggest selling points.

As well special live events, the original survey also mentioned benefits like independent wrestling content (presumably from partner promotions like ICW and PROGRESS), early ticket access, and Hall Of Fame voting.

This story seems to re-emerge every couple of months, so it's best taken with a pinch of salt. Still, this is the first time WWE have taken clear steps towards making tiered Network subscriptions a reality. It can't be dismissed entirely.
