WWE Filming Raw Backstage Vignettes WEEKS Before Airing
Forward planning in WWE? Apparently so...
Vignettes from recent editions of Monday Night Raw have been filmed weeks before airing according to recent reports. And talent, unsurprisingly, are pleased with the development.
Fightful Select offered the surprising tidbit, noting that;
"Many of the vignettes that have been running on WWE Raw were filmed a couple of weeks before they ended up airing. We’re told that the talent have been enjoying them"
The news will come as a surprise to many, considering WWE's reputation for making extremely rash and late changes to just about everything they do over the last 20 years. Notable examples have included The Undertaker being told about losing his WrestleMania undefeated streak on the day of the show, Liv Morgan being informed in Gorilla that her match was cancelled as she was being filmed for her documentary and Money In The Bank 2019 runner-up Mustafa Ali being told he wasn't winning the potentially life-changing encounter as he was going through the curtain.
Much of this erratic behaviour was put down to Vince McMahon's leadership "style" and personality in general, and his general absence from proceedings could be contributing to the philosophical shift. That said, McMahon was in attendance for Monday's Raw in Hartford, Connecticut, and other than the usual murmurings about his grim presence and typical meddling, wrestlers reported how much they'd enjoyed working the show and little emerged about vignettes being scrapped.
