WWE Hell In A Cell was the most successful B-show pay per view of 2015, with an impressive 87,000 buys. Most of the sales were international, with 74% buys from abroad and 26% domestic. WWE Network viewership was likely just under the million subscribers, which means that Hell In A Cell would have had overall impressive viewing figures. The Undertaker versus Brock Lesnar main event clearly had huge appeal. The pay per view numbers are encouraging for WWE, a welcome source of extra revenue. Buys were up from the 77,000 who bought Night Of Champions, and up from the 80,000 who bought Battleground, which was the second most successful B Pay Per View of the year. As for top level PPV shows like SummerSlam and Royal Rumble, they're still pulling in over a hundred thousand buys, while WrestleMania clocked an impressive 259,000. You do have to wonder if WWE did give up on the PPV format too soon, with UFC and boxing both doing impressive PPV numbers in 2015, and WWE's own PPV numbers being remarkably strong despite the 9.99 streaming option. The success of Hell In A Cell is demonstrative of the fact that WWE's Raw ratings aren't too damaging to the ultimate sell. With a potential of over a million people watching the special between PPV and digital, this is potentially the most watched October special in company history.
