World Wrestling Entertainment officials are currently looking for a new Latin female star to be a face of the company, reports the Wrestling Observer. They are looking for somebody with sex appeal and Spanish speaking skills, and for someone who can be front and centre in helping to expand WWE's Latin audience. It's a no brainer for WWE to want to get a Latin star since that's a big percentage of the fanbase, especially in the US. They had a popular Latin diva in Melina Perez in the mid to late 2000s, but she's been out of the company for about five years and they need a new star. What's interesting about this is that Lucha Underground has two Latin female stars in Catrina (Karlee Perez) and Ivelisse, both of whom worked for WWE. When Catrina was in WWE she was Maxine and left the company because she was stuck in developmental for too long while Ivelisse failed to impress in developmental or on Tough Enough. They also have Melissa Santos, who is the Lucha Underground announcer. If there's a second Lucha Underground season then those women will still be there, but WWE could have had Latin stars if only they used them better. Perhaps WWE can find what they are looking for when they do the Diva Search later this year after Tough Enough is over. If they know what they want they can certainly find somebody that fits.
