WWE decided against booking the betting favourites (AJ Styles and Shayna Baszler) to win at Money In The Bank 2020, nor did they go with the nuclear troll options of Baron Corbin and Nia Jax. Instead, the promotion had Asuka and Otis emerge as unlikely winners in the titular main event.

The men and women's matches went down at the exact time, with the men stating in a Titan Towers gymnasium while the opposite sex congregated in the building's lobby. A wild building-wipe scrap unfolded, and the fight to the top was peppered with all kinds of easter eggs before the competitors finally hit the roof, scrambling for the briefcase.

Asuka's victory came first. She seized the cream-coloured case after knocking Lacey Evans onto Jax, before striking down Corbin, who'd made the bizarre decision to try and stop 'The Empress' from claiming her prize. This left nobody to prevent the Japanese star from claiming her prize.

Otis then took the men's prize in more fortuitous fashion, profiting from a Styles/Corbin ladder-top scrap that saw them bicker over who was first to unhook the case, leading to it falling down into the Heavy Machinery man's clutches.

Surprising choices - both of them - though it's hard to imagine many people being dissatisfied with what went down.
