WWE NXT Moving To Wednesdays, Announces 3 Big Matches
The move coincides with Smackdown transitioning back to Thursdays.
NXT, arguably WWEs brightest spot during the past several months, will move its weekly program on the WWE Network to Wednesdays next week. The move coincides with Smackdown transitioning back to Thursdays, where NXT has aired for nearly its entire run on the Network. As part of the move to Wednesday, it was announced Thursday that NXT will hold three huge matches, including an NXT Championship rematch between champ Sami Zayn and former title-holder Adrian Neville. The two tore down the house and had a match of the year contender at NXT Takeover: Evolution last month. Although they probably wont get the same amount of time that they did for the two-hour special event NXT is an hour-long program odds are that Zayn and Neville will deliver a must-see match. Also announced Thursday, Baron Corbin and Bull Dempsey will finally square off in the ring. The two have been involved in a game of one-upsmanship for the past couple months as theyve run through jobbers left and right. This marks the first in-ring confrontation between the two undefeated monsters in NXT, so it will be interesting to see whether one of them actually wins or if it ends inconclusively so the feud can continue. Corbin seems to be the one with the bigger upside, so he could ultimately emerge on top in the feud. Lastly, Tyson Kidd will face Finn Balor next week, pitting two high-octane wrestlers against each other. Kidd has seen a bit of a resurgence in recent months, stringing together a few wins and increased camera time on WWE television. Balor wowed the crowd at Evolution with his war paint and performance, and he seems to be ticketed for a quick ride up to the big leagues. If given enough time, this match could steal the show. With these three matches announced in advance, WWE is clearly trying to ensure that fans make the transition to Wednesdays for NXT. For fans who have the Network but havent tuned in before, next weeks NXT episode could be a perfect entry point, with potentially two PPV-quality matches to enjoy.
