WWE NXT Star Reveals Fascinating Shawn Michaels Advice
Shawn Michaels isn't shy about dishing out key advice for this WWE man.
WWE NXT star Carmelo Hayes has revealed some key advice that coach Shawn Michaels gives out to keep him grounded behind the scenes.
During a chat with The Ringer, Hayes said that HBK constantly pulls him aside backstage and says: "Hey, don’t do as I did. Do as I say". The Hall Of Famer is slightly concerned that younger workers will try to follow in his brash footsteps, so he's quick to remind them that he made a lot of mistakes and wishes he could turn the clock back.
That, Carmelo says, is akin to having a WWE "cheat code". He gets to feed on Shawn's experience (both good and bad), and that helps him make better decisions when it comes to carrying himself or representing the promotion outside of shows.
Michaels was a notorious headache for company management during the 1990s. The legend has been very open about how much of a nightmare he could be for those around him during his in-ring prime, but he does have a lot of knowledge to drop on NXT's youth.
Learning from his mentor's errors is invaluable for someone like Hayes.
