Sports Illustrated first broke the news that WWE have cancelled planned appearances for both The Undertaker and Kurt Angle at the upcoming Starrcast II convention during AEW's Double Or Nothing weekend in Las Vegas this May.

Both legends had been scheduled to appear in person to meet fans, pose for pictures and sign autographs, but SI reported that plans have since changed. Promoter and podcast guru Conrad Thompson told the outlet that he's been in touch with WWE about finding suitable replacements for 'Taker and Angle.

One of Thompson's plans was to keep Kurt but replace The Undertaker with fellow big name Shawn Michaels. WWE weren't keen on that idea either, and the same went for Conrad's pitch to have Vince McMahon, Stephanie or Triple H appear; Conrad suggested donating 100% of the proceeds from such a landmark signing to Conor’s Cure.

SI also reported that WWE's decision was made due to the "burgeoning war between All Elite Wrestling and WWE". There's merit to that claim, although Thompson did also state that talks between all parties (including Vince McMahon himself) had been friendly and positive.

Stay tuned to Starrcast.com for further updates when they happen.
