WWE: Randy Orton And Daniel Bryan Handed Fines
This past week on Monday Night Raw; we witnessed the proverbial rubber match between Randy Orton and Daniel Bryan under street fight stipulations, where Daniel Bryan picked up the victory. However not all was positive in the aftermath of that excellent match, as the WWE have officially handed fines to both participants. The WWE officially announced the news on Friday that they have fined Randy Orton and Daniel Bryan. At the moment the fee is undisclosed but the reason behind this is because of the chair shot exchange which took place in that match. This is not part of any storyline plot for the future and is not a work, this is an official action as the WWE are taking a no nonsense attitude towards chair shots these days. They are now frowned upon because of all the recent concussions various superstars have been suffering; Dolph Ziggler suffered from one and has only returned recently, WWE Diva Tamina Snuka; daughter of the legendary Jimmy Superfly Snuka also suffered from a concussion whilst Fandango is still out due to a concussion, his second during his time in the company and they are doing all they can to avoid any circumstances such as these in the future. Paul Levesque, also known as Triple H who is the WWEs Executive Vice President of talent relations and live events released a statement, where he said;
We dont allow chair shots to the head in WWE. We understand it was in the heat of the moment but we take this very seriously and as a result, Orton and Bryan were fined.The full WWE statement on their website read,
Following their intense street fight on Monday Night Raw, WWE fined both Randy Orton and Daniel Bryan an undisclosed amount for chair strikes to the head during their match. Randy Orton was also asked about the amount he received, his reaction was Trust me, it was enough.According to WWE sources, the actual fines were for the top rope spot, as that was the only chair shot which was directed towards the head and although it was clear that Randy Orton was trying to protect Daniel Bryan due to him holding back on the swing, it is still banned in the WWE.
