WWE Raw Viewership Increase For Undertaker/Lesnar Brawl

How much impact did Lesnar vs Taker have on the Raw audience?

WWE received good news for Monday's Raw because they got 3.804 million viewers, which is up from 3,531 million viewers last Monday. The first hour did 3.84 million viewers, hour two did 4.03 million, which is very good for WWE these days and then the third hour dropped to 3.54 million viewers. The viewership numbers are for American viewers courtesy of Showbuzzdaily.com.

The spike in viewers was directly related to the Undertaker/Brock Lesnar segment that took place at the top of the second hour when Paul Heyman was in the ring doing a promo and Undertaker confronted him. Then Lesnar showed up to brawl with him. The next two segments on Raw were dedicated to them. It's pretty significant that nearly half a million people tuned out following that Undertaker/Lesnar segment. It also shows that WWE was smart to bring Undertaker back the way they did at Battleground because people wanted to know why he attacked Lesnar. A big reason why WWE brought back Undertaker was because ratings have been down in the last few months and Vince McMahon is smart enough to know that people will tune in for the Deadman. The numbers proved that WWE were smart to bring him back. Will those numbers go up or down the next time he's on? That won't be known until next week or whenever Undertaker is back on with Lesnar. What the numbers also show is that third hour really does drag the show down. That's also likely why WWE did the Undertaker/Lesnar segment earlier because they know the audience typically goes down as the night goes on.
