WWE Releases Diva Maryse

She was released from her contract yesterday after recovering from abdominal hernia injury and WWE management not knowing what to do with her.

WWE have released two time former WWE Divas Champion Maryse from her contract. The announcement came on WWE.com today;

"WWE has come to terms on the release of WWE Raw Diva Maryse as of today, October 28, 2011. WWE wishes Maryse the best in all of her future endeavors."

No reason has been given for her release but she had recently been inactive through injury and on August 24th, went under the knife for surgery on an abdominal hernia. She took a lengthy hiatus away from television but recovered a few weeks back and WWE didn't know what to do with her upon a return. Her character had been stuck on NXT which is usually the beginning of the end. Interestingly she is real life boyfriend to The Miz but that couldn't save her, though it's said she was happy enough to hear the call for her release and probably would have quit sooner rather than later anyway. She commented on Twitter;

"I'M OUT and sexier than ever! Thanks to all my fans, colleagues and @WWE Universe. Im Happy, im Smiling, and FREE, now its time to get Naughty ............BE SEXY"

And posted this image... I have nothing particularly against Maryse but if I was WWE management, there's an easy budget trimming exercise I would have probably made long ago. Same for many of the talent on NXT.
