WWE Royal Rumble Live: 5 Things That Will Definitely Happen

By Liam Hoofe /

The road to Wrestlemania officially gets underway tonight with the WWE hosting their twenty sixth annual Royal Rumble live from the US airways Centre in Phoenix. This years Royal Rumble boasts one of the biggest main events in the history of the show as reigning champion CM Punk defends his WWE title against The Rock in a match that will no doubt be an encounter for the ages, whilst The Rumble match itself looks like one of the most unpredictable in years with plenty of rumoured returns and dirt sheets speculating on Wrestlemania main events choosing a winner feels an almost impossible task. The rest of the card is filled with exciting matches with the tag and World Heavyweight championships both to be contested in what looks set to be a great way to kick off 2013 in PPV. Who is going to walk out of the show with the title belts? Will we see the end of CM Punk€™s incredible title reign? Who is going to walk out as the Royal Rumble winner and onto the grandest stage of them all to compete for either the World Heavyweight or WWE title? After much debating these are my final predictions for The Royal Rumble€

5. Antonio Cesaro Will Retain The US Title

Let me just start by saying I am not a fan of the pre show match, for the last few months it has been a waste of time and the decision to have Miz and Cesaro performing on there is frustrating to say the least. These are two of the most talented superstars on the roster today and there is no doubt in my mind that they could put on a fantastic match on the main card. Unfortunately I don€™t book the show or its running order so we€™ll have to make do with it being on the pre show. As I've already mentioned I believe these two, giving a significant amount of air time could put on something really special, The Miz is getting over well as a face and his adoption of Ric Flair€™s figure four leg lock appears to be a hit whilst Cesaro is one of the biggest up and comers on the roster, his work getting more impressive with each outing. Cesaro has now held the title for five months having defeated Santino Marrella back at Summerslam, it€™s difficult to see him losing the title on a pre show but it wouldn't surprise me. Hopefully we get to see more of these two in the ring together in the next month or so.
