Appearing on the Canadian Comedy Hall of Fame podcast, the Ruthless Aggression midcard favourite spoke on his current, sporadic wrestling schedule, which includes trips to Puerto Rico to wrestle for fellow former WWE talents Primo and Epico Colon (h/t Wrestling Inc.):-

“I pick and choose. Maybe one every couple of months if it’s a destination I like. For example, yesterday there was a show in Puerto Rico but, you know, Primo & Epico, so I’m like, yeah, for those guys, I’ll go down whenever. I’ll wrestle ten, fifteen minutes, but it’s the whole weekend down there with the guys, getting to see the kids and families. You know, catching up and shooting the breeze and all that stuff.

Away from the ring itself, Marella stays busy by coaching up-and-coming wrestlers while dipping his toes into the world of commentary. Although he is currently focused on building experience, he would like to come back to WWE in this capacity at some stage:-

"I coach wrestling. For years, I was on a show called Aftermath on Sports Network. You know, we talked about the week that was in WWE. So I’m still around very much. Now, I’m doing commentary mostly. I do commentary for Destiny Wrestling, PTW in Poland, a company in Montreal, MEW. Basically, I’m just trying to get more reps. I did some for IMPACT, and eventually, I want to go to WWE in some capacity as a commentator.”

Marella, 48, was with WWE between 2005 and 2016. Coming through the old Ohio Valley Wrestling developmental territory, he quickly established himself as a popular midcard act, later prolonging his career by getting over huge as a comedy act, before departing with two Intercontinental, one United States, and one Tag Team title reign on his record.

Santino last appeared for WWE at Royal Rumble 2020, reprising his Santina Marella character in the titular women's match.
