WWE look set to score a significant financial windfall in the form of a bumper new television deal in India.

Per Dave Meltzer in this week's edition of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, it's thought that the promotion is on the verge of finalising a big-money contract. Nothing has been announced yet, but it's believed to be in the works, with WWE's current TV deal expiring later this year.

The promotion scoops around $34 million per year from Indian television. Meltzer reports that the new deal will likely fall somewhere between $60 million and $61 million, despite original estimations that it could be worth up to $125 million annually.

A figure of $60 million a year would guarantee that India is WWE's second-biggest market as far as television goes, though there's a chance this may already be the case; it is believed that BT Sport are paying less than $34 million p/a in the United Kingdom.

Meltzer writes that while this is definitely a good deal for WWE, it's unlikely to have much of an impact on the promotion's stock price as many people expected something significantly higher. Regardless, an increase is an increase.
