WWE SmackDown Show CANCELLED Amidst 'Wild Card' Chaos
Lowell, Massachusetts loses live show...
WWE have been forced to cancel their second SmackDown house show in as many weeks, with "scheduling conflicts" supposedly putting a bullet in the blue brand's planned Lowel live event.
The announcement was made by officials representing the 6,000+ capacity Tsongas Center where the event was due to take place on the Monday following Money In The Bank. The succinct reasoning was reflected in the statement, which simply read, "The WWE Live event scheduled for Monday May 20th at Tsongas Center in Lowell, MA has been cancelled due to a scheduling conflict."
WWE were forced to deliver the same news to fans in Corbin, Kentucky after their planned May 6 event bit the dust. Another Monday night event, this particular show clashed with the controversial edition of the flagship in which Mr McMahon formerly introduced the "Wild Card" rule.
Ticket sales weren't raised in discussion of either decision, though unexpected talent requirements for Raw again appear to have damaged the quality of the cards the B-show can realistically present at such short notice.
Crucially confirming a cancellation rather than a postponement, the venue added that, "Any tickets purchased via credit card will be automatically refunded. Please allow 5-7 business days for the refund to take place. Tickets that were purchased with cash at the Tsongas Center at UMass Lowell Box Office must be returned to the point of purchase in order to be refunded. We apologize for the inconvenience."
