WWE Still Expect Chris Jericho To Return Soon

By Matt Holmes /

Last week we reported that Chris Jericho had tweeted his apparent retirement from wrestling with the WWE. He wrote;

€œLet me get something straight€I will never wrestle for the WWE again. But there is some big news coming up in the world of dance€.€
The timing of the tweet was strange as there was much talk about Y2J returning at the Royal Rumble for a run in to Wrestlemania 28 in Miami, Florida on April 1st. PWInsider reports today that most people within the WWE have laughed off and dismissed Jericho's tweet as perhaps a joke. The majority of the WWE expect him to return within the next couple of months. Perhaps then Jericho was referring to the fact that "wrestling" is frowned upon in the WWE where everyone are now 'sports entertainers'? Personally speaking, not only can I see him returning at the Royal Rumble but I can also see him winning the damn thing, considering The Rock vs. John Cena is booked as a main event (increasingly looking like a non-title bout) and Daniel Bryan has already announced he will cash in his Money in the Bank at Wrestlemania against the SmackDown World Champion. That would leave Alberto Del Rio or CM Punk (the only two real potential candidates to be WWE Champion come April) against the possible Royal Rumble winner at Wrestlemania 28.
