Heads were being scratched worldwide on Twitter, Reddit and so on, at WWE's continually counter-productive booking and failure to properly spotlight the things that actually went right during the PPV.

There's no denying that the fan response to SummerSlam has been "mixed" to say the least, and whether you've already cancelled your WWE Network subscription or are going to grit your teeth and bear with it, something desperately needs to change if the product isn't going to be relentlessly, mercilessly mocked on social media forever more.

Sharing the rage at the utterly mediocre treatment one of the "big four" PPVs got does at least help soothe the pain, because if you can't laugh at a scripted wrestling show, then why even bother watching it in the first place?
