WWE SummerSlam 2019: Every Match Ranked From Worst To Best
Not a single match sucked. That's an absolute win.
WWE's annual "Biggest Party of the Summer" has come and gone for another year, and while it certainly wasn't an historic SummerSlam for the ages, this year's edition of the flagship PPV was basically not bad at all.
Once again, WWE has delivered a show that didn't boast a single dud match: the lesser bouts were generally kept to sensible runtimes and the marquee matches mostly delivered on their promise.
Easily the most appealing aspect of the entire event, however, was its excellent pacing. Despite its huge card, the main show ran "only" 3.5 hours, perhaps suggesting that WWE is finally seeing the appeal of a less-is-more approach (but we'll see about that).
Again, not a consistently strong show by any means, but there weren't any stinkers and, a few dodgy booking calls aside, it gave fans a solid enough night of wrestling.
Though NXT characteristically "won" the weekend yet again, it was far from an embarrassing showing by the main product. Quite the opposite, in fact...
