WWE SummerSlam 2021: 10 Nightmares That Could Come True

Vince McMahon's Goldberg obsession may continue, but that's not the only WWE fright in store.

Unapologetically negative, but just a bit of fun.

That sums this article up. Hopefully, "negative" won't sum up this weekend's SummerSlam pay-per-view though. WWE roll into Vegas for their latest heavily-hyped supershow, and...it could be a bit of a nightmare. Think of these entries as those little whispers coming from the back of your brain.

Psst. What if that title change you're dreading actually happens? Hey, wouldn't it just be the worst if WWE did this?! That's the kind of thing examined here. Zero attention is really paid to things that could go right, and everything is geared towards all those terrifying outcomes that may well make SummerSlam 2021 one to remember for the wrong reasons.

Perhaps it can be best-explained like this: Vince McMahon doesn't care what you, the hardcore viewer, thinks. Instead, he's keen to "make movies", split popular tag-teams, keep tedious feuds rolling along, cut a babyface's legs out from underneath her, cut another face's push short, book turns nobody asked for, title changes no-one asked for and generally p*ss Twitter right off.

So, be warned. There's little in the way of positivity here. Just saying...

10. Alexa Bliss Possesses Doudrop

WWE still hasn't explained what Doudrop saw Lilly do on Raw.

Did the "stupid doll" wink at her again? Did she stick out a creepy little tongue? Or, did Lilly whisper the creative team's plans to the one-time Piper Niven? If so, then that'd explain why the Scot looked so bloody horrified as Alexa Bliss grinned in the background.

There's only one way this tale ends - Alexa will possess Doudrop (with help from Lilly) and turn her against Eva Marie. The 'besties' pretence between Eva and her put-upon sidekick is flimsy anyway, and WWE obviously think it's ripe for a quick turn. At SummerSlam, don't be too shocked if Doudrop drops Marie and sides with Bliss against her will.

WWE's writers have played around with the possession element of Alexa's character before. Remember all that head tilting with Nia Jax and Reggie from a few months back? Yeah, that could come back round again this weekend. The unfortunate side effect is that this Bliss vs. Eva feud would roll on.
